Antimo’s Italian Kitchn is located in Hopewell at the first strip mall you hit when you come into town from Rt 518. If you are in the mood for a typical pizza lunch this would suit your needs. A recent upgrade to the interior gives you a good spot to go for a quick lunch and there is outside seating in the no-so-fancy sidewalk area. Antimo’s is a solid standby pizza place giving you a wide variety of pizzas, subs and salads.
Food: Big menus usually mean a lot of frozen items but Antimo’s has a good fresh selection of meats and veggies. Offering a solid Eggplant Parm sandwich you can get this for $6.95. Try adding lettuce, tomato, hot peppers and oil and vinegar to lighten it up. (I know this sounds weird but just give it a shot). The Caesar salad is a good option at $5.95 and is a simple take on the classic salad, a little parmesean some croutons and romaine. We are always disappointed when salad dressing is not house-made. The dressing seems like it comes from a bottle so there is nothing too great about that. There are plenty of pizza options for a slice to go like the Margherita which has a nice tangy house-made sauce. If you are ordering a pie go for the Brooklyn which is a solid option for a thinner crust pie ($16.95). Order it well done.
Atomosphere: Antimo’s Pizza has ample seating inside and out. On a nice day you can grab it to go and sit outside but even with the flowers and plantings you are basically sitting near a parking lot. The facade inside gives a classic Italian vibe with a mural and arches to take to bad to Italy (sort of).
Service: Hit or miss but always friendly. If you order ahead and pick up you could still be standing around for a while not feeling like anyone has a sense of urgency.
The Drinks: No liquor license. Decent options of soda like Pellegrino Limonato and Aranciata (Orange).
The Last Bite: Antimo’s is a solid option for lunch if you are in Hopewell. While the pizza is standard for Central NJ you’ll be back if you work in this area and their menu gives you plenty to choose from.
