I might be aging myself but “back in the day” when my parents took me to the circus, there were real circus freaks there. Guys who ate fire, ladies that dangled and swung on a rope by their long hair, lots of fire and insane sword-swallowing acts. Today’s circus is total A.D.D. fun but not as tough as I remembered. Loud music, short tracks blasting the latest top 10 cheese and lots of different things to look at from guys biking on a tightrope to elephants dancing Gangnam Style (I know!) and of course lots and lots of clowns.
The Sun Bank Center was home to the Ringling Brothers circus today and had two showings. The 12pm show was hardly full but the show was good fun. A far cry from the old-school circus but worth a trip. If they are back in town you should check them out. Tickets were $25-45 and VIP included a tram-like ride in the circus ring during two acts. If you want to catch them, the next leg of the tour is in Hershey, PA.
