What comes to mind when you think of crepes, fromages and champagne? France of course! Bastille Day is Sunday July 14th. Celebrate being or loving French things all weekend long. Here are a few ideas:

Tonight:
The Lambertville Fireworks are dependent on the weather and if you didn’t get your fill during our Celebration of Independence why not celebrate the French Citizens’ victory of the storming of Bastille with a few blasts by the river. You can stop at The Brick Farm Market in Hopewell on your way and pick up some fresh baguette and fromages and make a great French-insired picnic. Fireworks go off at 9pm.

Saturday July 13th
Bastille Day Fete in Frenchtown, NJ
Take a ride out to Frenchtown for their Bastille Day Fete from noon until the evening. The streets will be jamming with live music and themed French with mimes, French inspired foods and a puppet show for kids.

Sunday July 14th
Bastille Day Celebration at the Grounds for Sculpture
Tour the GFS on Sunday July 14th for a Bastille Day celebration. The Park will feature sculptures and recreations of paintings in 3-D by French Impressionists. Have a picnic or just tour the grounds. 1-4pm

Keep in mind we are in the middle of blueberry season. This is a great time to Pick-Your-Own and spend a little time in the kitchen with one of the best parts of summer — fresh berries. Maybe A’la mode? If you are up for drive , check out Solebury Orchards in PA. They have a large u-pick area and also sell cherries, apricots and peaches.

Vive La Weekend!
