Princeton Daily Pastimes: 9/13

It’s Friday the 13th! Instead of talking about Horror movies, we are talking apples, music and food this weekend.

Although this heatwave makes it feel like summer, we are in Apple Season. That means, apple-picking, pumpkins and cider! Terhune’s is hosting their Apple Day on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 and gets you on the Farm for their celebration including farm wagon rides, pony rides, pumpkin painting, a corn maze all within their usual farm-atainment. Apple-picking takes place at your choosing and you can PYO any time. If you want a more mellow (and free) Apple-picking experience, head out to Solebury Farms which is one of our favorite orchards just outside of New Hope, PA. Check out their PYO pages for the varieties and what is left from their harvest.

JazzFest takes place in Princeton marking their twenty second year. Come to town and enjoy jazz in the square and a load of great food vendors. It is almost worth going just Blossom’s Catering’s jerk mac n’cheese. Other vendors: Buzzetta’s Festival Foods, Chez Alice Gourmet Café and Bakery, Da’s Kitchen, Jammin Crepes, Masala Grill, Mediterra, Mehek Fine Indian, Mistral, Princeton Soup & Sandwich Company, Teresa Caffe, Thomas Sweet Chocolates, Tico’s Eatery & Juice Bar, Tiger Noodles, Tiger’s Tale, Triumph Brewing Company, Whole Earth Center, Winberie’s and Yankee Doodle Tap Room. 12-6pm Sunday

Performer Line-up:
12:00-1:00pm Princeton University Jazztet
1:15-2:15pm Alan Dale and the New Legacy Jazz Band
2:30-3:30pm Mark Shane Trio with Holli Ross
