Believe it or not, I bought my first and only yoga bag six years ago when the Design Within Reach Annex (Outlet Store) first opened in Secaucus, NJ. If you have not been there you must visit it for some discounted modern faves. Most of what ends up there are returns or discontinued items and what is great is that everything is ready to go home with you that day so no need to order and wait (instant gratification). Some of the furniture is dented and dinged so you need to dig around and examine before you buy.
I have not been to the 12,000 square foot DWR Annex recently but the last time I was there I picked up a Nelson Platform Bench and a yoga bag by Plank. The Bench was in perfect shape and now holds books in a sitting room in my home.
The bag was a little splurge I didn’t “need” nor expect to find at the time but ended up being my favorites. These days I use the Plank bag as my gym bag and also end up using this bag for overnights for my children. The buckles on the outside that are meant for your mat can also be used for a sleeping bag, blankets, pillows, stuffed animals or whatever either can’t fit in the bag or you want to keep out, like a pair of sneakers or wet towel. If you are looking for a new large bag this is a great option. The tote is lined and had 3 big pockets one of which has as zipper. The clasps are solid and not failed me yet. (Color Choices Blue, Red and Chocolate).
If anyone knows where you can find these near Princeton, please post a comment. Otherwise, you can get it direct on Plank Designs. ($195)
